Level Payment Plan

Monthly electric service bills may vary widely throughout the year. But with the OPPD Level Payment Plan, you gain the convenience of knowing exactly how much your monthly payment will be, no matter what the weather.

How Level Payment works

  • Each year, OPPD projects your usage for the next 12 months. If you have lived at your present address for the past year, the projection is based primarily on your past usage. Otherwise, it is based on past usage at the new service address.
  • Using this projected usage, OPPD calculates your annual electric service bill (including tax). This calculated amount is used to establish 12 level payments, which become your monthly payment until the following year.
  • Example: If your anticipated bill for 12 months is $840, your payments are calculated as follows: 840/12=70. Your monthly level payment would be $70

  • Your monthly level payment will be recalculated once each year, and the amount you pay may increase or decrease based on your consumption and your overpayment or underpayment balance.

You will automatically be retained in the Level Payment Plan unless you notify OPPD otherwise.

Should your payments amount to more than your charges, OPPD will pay interest on any monthly credit balance. The interest rate is reset annually, and it is 1.5 percentage points greater than the average passbook savings rates at Omaha's three largest banks.
