Omaha Public Power District is committed to helping slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in our community. On April 8, the City of Omaha ordered all city parks closed to the public to promote social distancing and limit potential exposure to the virus.
Effective April 10, OPPD’s 26-acre arboretum at 108th and Blondo streets and the Power Park ballfields near the utility’s North Omaha Station generation facility will also close to the public.
These properties are owned and operated by OPPD, but we honor the city’s decision and will do our part to lessen the potential for large outdoor gatherings by closing the properties.
Beginning April 10, signs will be posted at the entrance to the arboretum and ballfields. We ask the public to respect this decision, as well as the city’s, and do their part to lessen the spread of COVID-19 in our community by staying home as much as possible.
